Thank you for participating in our anuual Hops in Humboldt Micro-brew Beer Festival.
As part of the festive atmosphere we are striving to achieve, our committee has come up with some awards honoring your presence and brews.
These award trophies will be announcd and presented on the stage at approximately 4:00 p.m.
We hope that the winner will display them proudly at their respective establishments.
The awards that will be given out are: |
Taster's Choice - It is what it is. This is the one chosen by the people!!! Each brewery will have a container for the Taster's Choice tickets. These special tickets will be sold for 25¢ or 5 for 1$. At 3:15 p.m. Some one will come around to pick them up. Please have them counted and fill in the info requested on the bag provided. In the spirit of the Friendly City, lively yet friendly competition is recommended, in fact encouraged. Anything goes which means enticements, bribes, dispensations, pronouncements of greatness, offers of... or whatever.
Best of Humboldt - Condolences to our out of county breweries but this award is bestowed on that local brewery with the best beer.
Best of Hops - Think of this as the best of show. The best beer as judged by our ownn illustrious "expert" judges will be the winner of this award.
Brewers Best Batch Award - This one is to honor those experimental brews that only come around once in a while. The great stuff that is on special straight our of the keg,, the not on the menu or in a bottle, seasonal stuff that the brewers concoct themselves either with a plan or not ....oops.
Centennial Award - This year The City of Fortuna is 100 years old.. This award will be picked by a chosen representative and is a one of a kind, once in a life time achievement award to honor the friendliest brew at Hops in honor of our Frriendly City's Birthday.
Best Garage Brew Award - This is the bathtub gin,, out-in-the-woods-under-a-tent, in the garage non-commercial type of brew. The intention of this award is to recognize that wannabe segment of the craft brewing community.
