Transportation to and around the redwood forest is necessary to see parts of it, but you can see a lot of it just by walking through the forested areas of the cities. For instance, the redwood park adjacent to the Eureka Zoo is spectacular and has places for parties, cookouts and hiking. Just a few steps away from the play equipment of the park, you will feel as though you have stepped back in time ... waaaay back ... like into Jurassic Period!!
